Purchasing Gate Passes / Parking Passes
Chautauqua Institution is a gated community. During the summer season anyone entering the grounds of the Institution is required to purchase a gate pass. A parking pass must also be purchased by anyone staying on the grounds, whether the parking is private (on-site at the property) or in Chautauqua Institution's Main Parking Lot. Guests without private parking are allowed to use a Baggage Pass to unload and load cars at their property, before parking them in the Main Lot. Gate passes and parking passes may be arranged through Chautauqua Institution prior to, or on the day of check-in. Guests staying at the NorthShore Townhomes, the Pines and the Overlook condos are allowed 1 space of private parking, which must be purchased through Chautauqua Institution. This can be done upon arrival at the Main Gate or in advance. Parking spaces are reserved and numbered. The parking pass is to be displayed in the front window of the guest's vehicle. Some of our private homes also have parking available. These passes also need to be purchased through Chautauqua.
There are two outdoor, heated swimming pools for NorthShore Townhome guests. The Pines also has one unheated, outdoor swimming pool. NO ONE else is permitted to use the swimming pools unless it is specified in your lease description. Swimming is permitted only when a lifeguard is on duty. All other guests may use the indoor swimming pool at the Turner Community Center. Call the Turner Community Center (716) 269-3436 for hours / fees.
